Too many roles in this field treat caring adults like babysitters — long hours, little trust, and no path forward. We do it differently. Uniforms are flight suits, classrooms are missions, and every crew member is trusted with real responsibility and given the training, time, and tools to navigate it well. Teacher — Academy
📍 Nanaimo, BC, Canada🕒 Part or Full Time
Lead a classroom where curiosity becomes capability. Our Academy teachers guide K–9 learners through a cosmic curriculum that blends coding, science, music, and entrepreneurship — mapping each child's unique constellation of talents and equipping them to navigate any galaxy.
What you'll do
Plan and deliver engaging, imagination-led lessons aligned to our cosmic curriculum
Build warm, trusting relationships with students and families
Track and celebrate each learner's growth and milestones
Collaborate with fellow crew on cross-program projects and events
Good fit: ECE certification or a teaching background is an asset; a genuine love of working with children is essential.
Childcare Worker — Childcare
📍 Nanaimo, BC, Canada🕒 Part or Full Time
Be the steady, caring presence in a child's day — from daycare through school age. You'll create safe, nurturing, imaginative environments where children feel empowered to wonder who they might become.
What you'll do
Supervise and engage children in play-based, developmentally appropriate activities
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming program space
Support routines — meals, rest, transitions — with patience and warmth
Communicate daily with families about their child's adventures
Good fit: ECE or ECEA certification preferred; First Aid an asset. Above all, a big heart and dependable presence.
Starship Bus Driver — Childcare & Academy
📍 Nanaimo, BC, Canada🕒 Part or Full Time
Pilot the Starship. You'll safely transport our crew of young explorers between programs, schools, and adventures — the trusted hands that get every child where they're going and back home again.
What you'll do
Safely transport children on scheduled routes and program outings
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle checks and maintain trip logs
Ensure every child is buckled, accounted for, and calm aboard
Represent In Space with warmth and reliability to families and schools
Good fit: Valid BC Class 4 licence (or willingness to obtain), clean driving record, and a calm, friendly manner with children.
Lifeguard — Aquatics
📍 Nanaimo, BC, Canada🕒 Part or Full Time
Watch over the water. At our indoor pool, you'll keep swimmers safe, support lessons, and help children build confidence and joy in the water — turning nervous first dips into proud milestones.
What you'll do
Maintain constant, vigilant surveillance of the pool and swimmers
Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies with calm competence
Assist with swim lessons and water-based programming
Keep the aquatics space clean, safe, and welcoming
Good fit: Current National Lifeguard (NL) certification and Standard First Aid / CPR-C required.
